Monitoring the impact of ultrasonic energy to the leveling of thick film pastes
Pokluda, Tomáš ; Buršík, Martin (referee) ; Řezníček, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the problem of levelling of a profile by ultrasound after printing thick layer pastes and on electrical resistance and geometrical dimensions changes. It describes a creation of hybrid integrated circuits, thick film technology and the screen printing method. It also includes basics of fluid physics, basics of fluid rheology, and description of principles of the used ultrasound transducer. Records of the levelling measurements are presented through the use of photographs, comments, tables and graphs.
Repair of car body
Tolkner, Josef ; Žák, Ladislav (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
The work deals with the issue of repairing the car following a minor accident, or his body and especially her painting. Bachelor's thesis has been designed to help inexperienced drivers to fix their cars with minimal cost and to yourself. At first, I deal with the profitability of their own work-if not paid the car repair due to its condition and price compared with estimated costs of repair and time consuming work performed. I describe a variety of work such as removing damaged parts, metal straightening, filling inequalities, grinding, coating layers of paint and assembly. At the end make the final calculation of the cost of repairs, time allocation, the result of labor-cost estimate for repairing the vehicle and compare all the costs estimated at the beginning.
Multitone Modulation Implemented via Filter Bank
Krajsa, Ondřej ; Vlček, Čestmír (referee) ; Róka, Rastislav (referee) ; Šilhavý, Pavel (advisor)
The work is focused on multitone modulation implemented by filter banks, which are alternative modulations to DMT and OFDM modulations. The paper describes the two proposed modulation schemes, non-overlapped FMT and half-overlapped FMT. This modulations utilize the benefits of implementing FFT algorithm in conjunction with a bank of polyphase filters that are derived from the prototype filter. To design the prototype filter a Matlab tool is developed. For both modulations the simulation models were created for xDSL systems and for wireless transmission channel. Non-overlapped FMT modulation proved to be a suitable modulation scheme for channels with narrowband interference and sharp edges in the transmission function of the channel. It was allowed by perfect separation of each subchannel and with preserving the orthogonality between subchannels using the FFT algorithm and utilization of appropriate filters. Half-overlapped FMT modulation allows as well as the DMT modulation optimal utilization of provided transmittion band, because the power spectral density of the signal is flat. But it is not suitable for transmission channels with roughly shaped by changes in the transmission function and narrowband interference. Optimization implementations were designed using parallel processing on the DSP Texas Instruments TMS320C67x series. It thus achieved almost ten-fold reduction in computational complexity. In FMT modulation both options ensure increased signal to noise ratio and thus allow the use of constellation diagrams with a large number of signal elements with the same transmit power and also higher transmission speed.
Modelling of yield curves
Šmejkal, Jan ; Hurt, Jan (advisor) ; Zichová, Jitka (referee)
In practice, yield curves, i.e. plots of relation between yields and times to maturity for a group of comparable securities, are an important tool for assets and liabilities pricing as well as for financial decision making. The theoretical risk-free yield curve represents the term structure of interest rates that are used e.g. in insurance industry for pricing the liabilities, for which reserves are created, or also as a benchmark for pricing other assets in the market. When constructing the yield curve, it is not possible to observe yields of a group of assets for all maturities. That is why we use various mathematical methods which enable us to construct the yield curve also for unobserved maturities. In this thesis, some of these methods are introduced. The Svensson's method is one of the most important and frequently used ones. We use this method to derive the coupon curve from Czech government bonds aiming to construct the risk-free zero coupon yield curve. Later on, we use different weights for particular bonds trying to improve pricing of all the bonds based on the derived curve. Then, we also look for the curve that minimizes the mean squared error of estimated (compared to observed) prices. Because problems with liquidity can appear especially for long maturities, we apply all of the procedures to a...
The child with Moebius syndrome in a family
NOVÁKOVÁ, Nikola
The topic of this thesis is a Child with Moebius syndrome in the family. The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to get into the life of a family with a child with this disability. Since there is still a very small amount of literature on the issue of Moebius syndrome, where information could be gained, there was also set a partial goal, namely to process the causation, with the main task to present Moebius syndrome in everyday life. The theoretical part deals with the impact of the birth of the affected child on the family, the process of coping with this situation and possible educational styles that the family can choose. Furthermore, the theoretical part contains chapters about the siblings themselves and the support and the assistance to the family. A part of the thesis deals with the characteristics of Moebius syndrome, its etiology, symptomatology, treatment and possibilities of therapeutic care. The practical part is realized through autobiographical research, which is gained from own experience and from the experience of selected family members. The starting point is to get acquainted with the case of a girl with MS. This part is followed by an autobiographical narration and a narration of the girl's mother. They have emerged basic themes. This research is complemented by a semi-structured interview with the Head of the Early Care Center, which complements the family's view of the issue.
Projection of mortality tables and their influence on insurance embedded value
Filka, Jakub ; Pešta, Michal (advisor) ; Cipra, Tomáš (referee)
We study development of mortality tables from 1950 to present in Czech Republic. Our aim is to look at the 6 basic models, which can be potentially used to describe behavior of dying for people over 60 years. Models that are being investigated vary from generally accepted Gompertz-Makeham model to logistic models of Thatcher and Kannisto. We also introduce Coale-Kisker and Heligman- Pollard model. Our analysis is concentrated mostly on projecting abilities of given models to the highest ages. Especially for women, where data do not show such dispersion as in the case of men, there is a visible trend that can be described better by using logistic models instead of Gompertz-Makeham model, which has a tendency to overestimate the probabilities of dying in higher ages. Keywords: projection of mortality tables, Gompertz-Makeham, logistic models 1
